Third Thursday Gallery Hops

The Greenhouse Arts Project would like to announce our latest extension into the wider arts community in Louisville, our collaboration with the Barret Zone to bring to the city "Third Thursdays" every month in the Barret Avenue gallery district, which is centered at the corner of Barret and Winter Avenues. The first ever Third Thursday event will be held 18 January, 2007, beginning at 6PM and culminating at the Monkey Wrench, 1025 Barret Avenue, at 10PM with a live broadcast of "Woody’s Roadhouse" on WFPK Radio Louisville 91.9FM, called the "Mighty Barret Avenue Shake".

This event will serve as the opening for our featured monthly exhibit at the Monkey Wrench, showcasing the paintings of Louisville/Chicago based artist David Louis Carter. Visitors can also expect murals, video, live music, improvisational theater, and more.

The Greenhouse Arts Project is a collective gallery and studio space that focuses on showcasing emerging local artists in Louisville. Founded in late 2005, we are the only gallery in town that features live local bands every month, shows with great themes and community involvement, a fire pit, a tree house, a crazy old man and a member of the Board currently wandering about in Southeast Asia to share our Project with the people there and bring some of their art back to share with his hometown in a few months' time.
